Sara Fowler, Barrel tasting

Celebrating Oak is a can’t miss experience for lovers of Cabernet and the first of its kind at PEJU.

This one-of-a-kind, wine, and culinary experience from PEJU in Rutherford, Napa Valley. This inaugural event is a day of hands-on, interactive and educational activities:

  • Beginning with Chef Nic’s Wine Country Breakfast featuring Hedge Coffee
  • Oak 101 & barrel building demo hosted by our partner Tonnellerie Nadalié
  • Barrel experiment tasting & discussion hosted by Sara Fowler
  • An interactive culinary exploration of the impact of oak with Chef Nic
  • Barrel EXP vertical tasting featuring vintages 2015 – 2021
  • Our 5-course Feast of Flavors paired with a collection of PEJU reserve wines

Guests of Celebrating Oak will have the chance to explore wine samples that are currently maturing in various barrel types, including different oak profiles and toast levels, during a tasting led by winemaker Sara Fowler. They’ll converse with Sara and inquire about the subtle distinctions. Afterward, step into the PEJU kitchen and see how Chef Nic has taken inspiration from the Barrel Experiment and applied it to his creations.
