Here at our Rutherford estate, we’ve implemented a sustainability initiative by utilizing Babydoll Sheep in our vineyard. These sheep play a crucial role in maintaining the vineyard ecosystem by naturally controlling weeds and grasses, reducing the need for herbicides and mowers. This eco-friendly approach not only promotes sustainable farming practices but also contributes to soil enrichment, as their droppings provide valuable nutrients that enhance the fertility of the vineyard soil, fostering a holistic and sustainable approach to grape cultivation.

Winemaker Sara Fowler’s yearly barrel experiment is well regarded by her Napa Valley peers. For the 2019 vintage, she chose 22-barrel coopers and 41 different barrel toast styles to age 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
