Winemaker Notes: Harvested Sept. 2005 through Oct. 2005. 100% Estate grown. The grapes were hand picked and hand sorted. The juice was pumped over twice daily and spent 27 days fermenting on the skins. Barrel aged for 16 months in 25% new American Oak and 75% seasoned barrels. This wine is 93% Syrah and 7% Merlot.
Sensory Description: Dark garnet red, bright and clear in appearance. Aromas of huckleberry, black pepper, cocoa and toast mixed with roast coffee. Focused to show off its jucy flavor of blueberry, plum and blackberry fruit, shaded by hints of mineral and cream as the finish lingers effortlessly against light, crisp tannins.
