September is a month of in-betweens. We’re in-between seasons, shifting from warm weather to cooler weather and transitioning from baseball season to football season. With all of this change, you shouldn’t have to change your wine! Our 2014 Sauvignon Blanc may be the perfect summertime sipper, but it’s also a beautiful wine that complements fall flavors, which is why Tasting Room Ambassador Scott Neumann has chosen Sauvignon Blanc as September’s Wine of the Month!
1. What is your chosen Peju “Wine of the Month?”
2014 Peju Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley
2. What is your favorite thing about Peju’s 2014 Sauvignon Blanc?
Our Sauvignon Blanc is such a beautifully balanced wine, which is what I love about it. It’s bright and crisp without being the least bit sharp. It’s delicious, with a broad spectrum of aromas and flavors.
3. How would you describe the 2014 Sauvignon Blanc?
The nose and palate agree with each other. The wine showcases bright tropical fruits like passionfruit, mango, guava and grapefruit with notes of peach and nectarine on the finish
4. What are your pairing suggestions?
There are so many things that you can pair with this wine. My ultimate pairing is seared day boat scallops—big ones—with a citrus Pico de Gallo. Enjoy this meal with a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Mmm, mmm, mmm!
