Our Peju Family Holiday Traditions

November 5th, 2015 @ 03:00pm Haley Sansom Around the Winery 0

The holidays are our favorite time of year at Peju Province Winery. Our most beloved holiday tradition is one that we started after the first planting of the sycamores, over 20 years ago. It is at this time of year that we trim our arching sycamores and adorn them with red holiday lights. We hope that when you see them, driving up Hwy. 29, you are reminded that the Peju family is wishing you happiness and health this holiday season!

Our favorite memory of Christmas mornings from our childhood is waking up to the smell of H.B.’s Austrian Pancakes. With a rich, custardy texture and an apricot jam filling, these pancakes are to die for. Since we’ve all grown up, she’s started adding some Liana Late Harvest Orange Muscat to the filling and we love them even more now.

As a family, we set aside time every November to harvest the pomegranate trees at our Wappo Estate. We have over 200 pomegranate trees and look forward to using them in all of our fall and winter recipes once we harvest them.

For us, the holidays are all about spending time with family, and we could not be more thrilled to watch Ariana and Ian’s son, Benjamin, enjoy the holiday season. Benjamin just celebrated his first birthday, and it has been an absolute joy to watch him grow up over the past year. There is something about having a child around that really brings out the holiday spirit, and we’re so happy to have him as the newest addition to our family.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season,

The Peju Family
