Spring is the time when the weather gets warmer, the days get longer and our vines begin to wake up from their long winter nap. While every season in Napa Valley is great for different reasons, here are the top five reasons that we love spring in Napa Valley.
1. Bud Break in the Vineyard
Bud break is an exciting time of year, because it means the beginning of growing season is officially here! Tiny buds begin to appear on the vines during this phase and eventually shoots begin to grow from these buds. Bud break typically begins in late March, just in time for spring.
2. Colorful Gardens
At Peju, our gardens are in full bloom during spring. H.B. Peju takes great pride in meticulously planting and maintaining the gardens in order to create a beautiful environment for our guests.
3. Spring Wines
Warmer weather means it’s time to break out those whites, pinks and rosés! Spring is also a wonderful time to celebrate newly released wine. At Peju, we are releasing our 2015 vintage of whites and pinks at our annual Spring Release Celebration Saturday, April 16.
With drier weather on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to head out and explore the many hiking trails in Napa Valley. Click here to see some of our recommended Napa Valley hikes.
